    Yalta Conference
    Was a meeting between Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin , Franklin D Rosevelt early in Febuary 1945 as world war two was winding down. The idea was to work out power balances and have USSR agree to fight japan along with give free elections while in turn be given the Sakhalin and the Kurile islands. During the cold, the USSR went back on their words and used the lands as buffer zones
  • Potsdam Conference

    Potsdam Conference
    Big three soviet leaders met up to negotiate terms for the end of the war. Ultimately it failed with the three leaders only agreeing only on the division of Germany, while leaving the invase USSR disastified. Of course, this contributed to the USSR intrusive behavior of Eastern countries during the cold war
