    Mass Production of Cars
    Henry Ford was the first person to Mass Produce Cars. He was the owner of Ford Cars, the first to be mass produced was the Model T and was able to be assembled in under 40 minutes.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was created at the end of The First World War when Germany had surrendered. The rest of the world including America, Great Britain and France created it, basically blaming Germany for starting the war and there were a certain amount of rules they had to oblige to.
  • WWI Ends

    WWI Ends
    The First World War officially ended in November 1918 after the Germans surrendered. America, Britain and France decided to blame the war on the Germans and came up with the Treaty of Versailles. many historians believe that this treaty was too harsh on the Germans and believe that this was part of the cause of WWII.

    The Jazz Age
    The Jazz Age primarily took off in the 1920’s in America, it was also known as the Golden Twenties or the Roaring Twenties. It all began after the First World War, and came to a tragic end because of the Wall Street Crash and The Great Depression.

    The television was not created by a single person but by a group. The group first took a still photo and transmitted it, and once developed enough they could create a moving image, but it still had no sound.

    The Market Crash of 1929 (AKA Wall Street Crash or Black Tuesday) started because of the money lost in WW1. This then lead to The Great Depression.

    The Great Depression began because of The Stock Market Crash, and lack of money in countries all over the world. This took a huge toll on Australians as the Unemployment rate went sky high. This went on until the mid 40's

    The Day of Mourning is when the Aboriginals protested on the steps of the Opera House saying that it was an unfair event. Because they had rightful ownership of the land and the Australians came and invaded.

    Adolf Hitler wanted more land in the East of Germany so he decided to attack Poland to claim more land. The rest of the world decided they needed to act and stood in.

    The Japanese started bombing and surprised attacked a US Naval Base in Pearl harbour, this outraged the Americans so much they decided to become part of WW2.

    Not just Darwin was bombed by the Japanese throughout this time, all throughout Northern Australia was bombed. Places including Townsville and Port Hedland, all up Northern Australia was bombed over 64 times which carried on until early 1943.

    In retaliation to the Pearl Harbour attack the Americans were developing a new type of weaponry; this was the Atomic Bomb, made by the mastermind Albert Einstein. While also bombing Hiroshima, a few days later the Americans also bombed a nearby town Nagasaki.

    The United Nations (UN) created the Declaration of Human Rights stating basic rights for humans all around the world. The United Nations are a group of countries that get together and make global rules.

    The Melbourne Olympics were the first Olympics to be broadcasted in Australia. It was also the time during the Suez Crisis and Hungarian revolution so some European athletes had to withdraw.

    The internet was first invented when the first Russian satellite was sent in to space. This satellite was called the “Sputnik”.

    A secret American spy plane took photographs of the Russians making Nuclear warheads on the American island of Cuba. The two superpowers of Russia and America knew the devastating effects of Nuclear war and decided not to attack one another.

    Martin Luther King performed a speech on the Lincoln steps near the Whitehouse in America. He made the speech in mind of race equality.

    A group of University students decided to take a group of Aboriginals from New South Wales coastal towns and take them on a joy ride across Australia. They hoped to point out the racial gap for Aboriginal people in Australia.

    Martin Cooper was the inventor of the Mobile phone. He was an American who lived in the state of California.

    Paul Hogan played the famous “Crocodile Dundee”. This was a historical event for Australia as it put us on the world map and gave us our stereotypical tough Aussie look.

    The Berlin wall was a wall separating East and West Germany, as the Germans did not want more people in the West as it was a more wealthy side to Berlin. This wall stood for 26 years and it was knocked down as instantaneously as it was put up.
