This war was started by the death of Hapsburg's last king, King Charles II. The war was fought between the Austrians, Dutch, and English allies against the French and their allies. The war was over who would be king of Spain as Charles died with no children. The war ended in 1714 with the treaty of Utrecht. The treaty named Phillip the king of Spain. This changed society in Spain by giving them a new ruler who was seen as more progressive and it helped Europe regain a balance of power.

John Locke was alive for the very beginning of the 18th century and died in 1704. He was the man who came up with most of the ideas that the American constitution contains and he was a massive figure in the Enlightenment. He believed that all men are born free and equal which aided the beginning of the abolitionist movement. His views on government and the social contract stand true to this day and have shaped America from its conception. He is one of the most influential characters in history.

The Molasses Act of 1733 was passed on Christmas day and it enacted a tax on molasses, sugar, and rum imported from non-British colonies. This tax added to the civil unrest in America as they now had to pay a fortune for sugar unless they wanted to buy it from Britain which was more expensive. This act along with others like the stamp act fueled America's desire for independence.

The War of Austrian Succession was fought from December 16th, 1740 to October 18th, 1748. The war was fought between The British, French, and Austrians. The war was over the balance of power between France and Britain and Austria was a neutral country for a short time. The war ended with the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle which made minor territory changes and Austria conceded to Prussia. This changed the future of Austria and the peace after the war was a constructive break where Austria progressed.

Although the slave trade did not end until the 19th century, it was very impactful in the 17th century. The slave trade had enormous impacts on European and American society and the abrupt advancements worldwide would not have been possible without it. The slave trade moved cultures and diseases from country to country and created an economic boom as well as an ethical dilemma that eventually tore America and, to a lesser degree, other countries apart.

The French and Indian War was fought from 1754 to 1763 and was fought between France and Britain over who the new land belonged to. If the French had won this war then maybe the Revolutionary war wouldn't have happened and America would be speaking French and be under French control. The outcome of this war helped cause the Revolutionary war because Britain controlled America and they forced them to fight for their independence by choking them with taxes and regulations.

The Seven Years' War was fought from 1756 to 1763 between France, Austria, Saxony, Sweden, and Russia against Prussia, Hanover, and England. The French continued to expand into the Ohio River Valley which inevitably led to conflict. France lost almost all land. Britain received Spanish Florida, Upper Canada, and various French holdings overseas. This war secured British control over the new land which completely changed history because if they hadn't then America we know today would not exist.

The American Revolutionary War was fought from April 19th, 1775 to September 3rd, 1783. The war was largely fought between America and Britain and America wanted independence. This war is very important as it changed history forever. If this war had been won by the British then the America and the world we know today would be drastically different. The Americans winning this war shaped the world and still is.

The French Revolution was fought from May 5th, 1789 to November 9th, 1799. This revolution is said to be one of the most influential events in history on modern life. This Revolution was against the injustices of the government and it was rooted in the people having more power over their own lives. The French were behind the times when it came to their society and this was them breaking from their chains. They tore down everything that stood and began to rebuild a more equal and free France.

Napoleon was a very influential character in France and the entirety of the world. The Napoleonic wars would rage on for 12 years and change the course of history. Napoleon changed France by being the leader of the French army from 1794 to 1797. More importantly to the French society though, he overthrew the directory on November 9th, 1799. He was voted as the new virtual leader of France and he would always put it up for a vote before being elected which instilled the democratic idea in France.
