Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book written by Harriet Beecher. The book was about the life of an enslaved man and they told about how poorly he was treated and his daily struggles. This caused outrage in the South because it was something they did not want to by displayed to the public. -
Republican Party Formation
The Republican party was made to oppose having slavery and to oppose most other Democrat ideals. In the election of 1860 the Republican Party backed up Lincon as a candidate. -
Kansas Nebraska Act
The Kansas-Nebraska Act had several parts. It repealed the Missouri Compromise, it created land sections for Kansas and Nebraska, and it made the issue of slavery legalization to the states. -
