Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase was purchased by the United State in 1803. Louisiana was 828,000 square mile and the United State paid 15 million to buy it from France. This impacted the United State because it help them take over big side of the west. -
War of 1812
The War of 1812 happen between the United State and British. Native American were on British side and some of them didn't want the Americans to come in their land. This was happen because the British didn't let the USA have their freedom on sea and between borders. This took 2 years and 6 month. USA won the war. This impact USA expison because it scared and clear enemies by the west. -
Missouri Compromise
Missouri Copromise happen because Missouri ask to join as slave state. There was balanced free and slave states, so if they joined it would make it unequal. Henry Clay said Missouri would join as slave state and they made a line between Lousinia area and the south of it which made it two areas. The other state was Maine and it joined as free state. This idea made it equal for free and slave state.This event impacted the United State because it helped the nation come together and not fight. -
Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe Doctrine was when the USA warned Europe not to fight with them. They also said European taking over could be a danger to USA. This impact USA expinsion because it help people know that they care for American freedom. -
Indian Removal Act
There was Indians in United State land and Andrew Jackson delacre to remove the tribes from the USA land. There were removed and some other tribes like Creeks, Chikasaw, Seminole, Choctaw and Cherokee were removed too. This really impact the United State expinsion because it cleared any enemies that cause problem for them to continue moving west. -
Mexican American War
The war started because Mexican troops attack USA troops at North of Rio Grande. The USA president Polk tired to buy the land from Mexico, but there president rejected. The United State didn't like it so just cause they killed 16 troops, war was started. This impact American expansion because there was Mexican in the way to move west and if they were there the United State would have trouble expending west. -
Gold Rush
The gold rush was found by James Marshall in Coloma, California. Over 300,000 came to California for gold rush. Many chainese came to get there gold, but many San Francisco Bulletin broke there stuff. Chinese were then benging fired from their work and some of them were killed. Gold rush was important to American expansion because it help get more money and more people want to move west to get the gold. -
Compromise of 1850
The Compromise of 1850 was for the people that wanted slavery and some that didn't. The United State tried to give something to both sides. This helped expansion because it stop war between the United State people. -
Kansas Nebraska Act
The Kansas Nebraska Act was the land was opened for people to came into. To become a state first there has to be a vote which state should have slave and which don't. The idea was the seatlers of the area would vote. This act was significance to American expansion because the people of the area voted for slave or free state. It helped keep the vote for the people fair and this cause no problem to happen between the United State people. -
Election of 1860
The Election of 1860 was between Abraham Lincoln, John C. Breckinridge, John Bell, and Stephen A. Douglas. Abraham Lincoln won the election and become United State president. This impact American expansion because the people chose the best president for United State and it made it fair for the people.
