Henry Flagler born
Henry Flagler was a wealthy businessman who made his fortune in the Standard Oil Company. He moved to Florida, where he became an influential real estate and railroad developer, building magnificent hotels in St. Augustine, Palm Beach and Miami. and railroads all along the east coast of Florida to bring visitors to them. He also built churches, schools and hospitals and became known as 'the man who invented Florida.' -
