Galileo designed the pendulum clocks in 1637. He thought of the idea while in church. His experiments with pendulums led to the development of more accurate clocks and watches.

Gabriel Fahrenheit invented the mercury thermometer in 1714. It is still used today all around the world. He created it to measure temperature and by putting class into a glass tube with marked spaces.
