Rilke writes "War Songs" at the start of the first world war.

Rilke is drafted into the Austrian army on November 26 1915.

Rilke moves ti Switzerland in 1919 and becomes a citizen in 1921.

"The Duino Elegies" and the "Sonnets to Orpheus" are published.
