    The Virginia House of Burgesses was a legislative body elected by the colonists to meet once annually in Jamestown and talk about each one of there towns.

    Mayflower Compact
    The Mayflower Compact was an agreement signed by all of the Pilgrims saying that they would follow laws and meet and vote frequently for the good of the colony.

    This was a law mandating religious tolerance for Trinitarian Christians.

  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    This war lasted all the way until 1763. The French and Indian war was a war faught in America between Great Britain and France. This war lead to the "Treaty of Paris".

  • Stamp Act Signed

    Stamp Act Signed
    The Stamp Act was created by Parliament and it stated that all Americans must buy stamps to place on their deeds, mortgages, liquor licenses, playing cards, almanacs and newspapers.

  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a resistance movement against the British and their taxing on tea. A group of colonists boarded a tea ship and destroyed a huge shipment of tea by throwing it into the Boston Harbour. This was to show that they would no longer put up with the British taxes and that they were not going to pay them.

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord where the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. The war was between the Province of Massachusetts Bay and Great Britain.

    The Declaration of Independence was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress. This statement announced that the 13 colonies where now independant states and no longer going to be a part of the British Empire.
