    War that lasted from from 1914 till 1919. Tranch Warfare resulted in large casualities. Chemical Warfare had horrific results. Caused many to lose faith in humanity, their nation, and religion which helped led to the modernism movement
  • Harlem Renaissance

    A movement starting in 1919 and ending in the mid 30's. Centered in Harlem it was a devlopment and coming to promience of black writers in America
  • Modernism

    Not an actual event, but a movement that lasted a long time. Started in the 19th century and continued for a long time but really exploded and grew in the 1920s. Moved away from traditional society and literatery traditions. Questioned society and religion.

  • September 11th

    September 11th
    Terriost working for Al Queda hjack planes and destroy the World Trade Centers in New York and crash in to the Pentagon. A fourh plane was hijack but was brought down by the passengers. 3,000 victims died in the attacks and since then 836 responders have died, as of July 2009. Attcks occured after President Bush recieved several reports that terriost would likely use hijacked airplanes as weapons against the U.S. and ignored them.
