One person (seignuer) owned the land and he would rent sections of it to French farmers (habitants)

The wars between Britain and France were conflicts that appeared when they both struggled for power and wealth. These wars in Europe and the New World reflected each other (the times of the wars were very close).

Acadians were banished from their land (the Maritimes) by the British soldiers. Many went to Louisiana. It was a difficult journey, many people died attempting it.

-attack on 3 fronts (Louisbourg, Ohio Valley, Quebec City)
French had many more forts than British
The War ended when the British took Montreal -
British commander James Wolfe organized his troops in a mile wide line. The British defeated the French troops led by Montcalm. This battle signified the beginning of the end of the war.

1760-1763
When the war was over, the British Military were in charge of runnning New France. They let the French Canadiens keep their culture, language and seigneural system; they only expelled the leaders.
