Local nature of conflict:
Syngman Rhee was not pleased with the peace talk and ordered for the release of POWs, damaging the talks significantly. This lead to the US to develop “Operation Everready” in order to remove Syngman Rhee from power if he steps out of the line. This showed that Rhee see the Korean War as a local conflict, as he tried to delay the end of war for his local aims. Also an attempt of minor manipulating the major power.
