Germany invaded and occupied the Czechoslovakian Sudetenland which contained a large amount of ethnic Germans in their population. German leader Adolf Hitler saw this as an opportunity to take more land and "reunite the German race". England and France yielded to the Germans during the Munich Conference, letting the Germans take the Sudetenland.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack from the Japanese Navy and Air forces. The Japanese struck the US naval base taking out most of the US Pacific Fleet and devastating the US Navy. The surprise attack soon led to the US entering World War 2 very soon after.

When the attacks from the Japanese at the US port of Pearl Harbor happened, many Japanese citizens were targets of racial prejudiced and blame. In order to keep any spies from giving information or any Japanese-Americans from getting hurt more, the US Government issued Order 9066. Order 9066 put Japanese citizens in US internment camps away from their home and family.

Japanese naval and air forces attacked and invaded the Philippines, an at the time US territory. General Douglas MacArthur took charge and defended and beat the Japanese out of the Philippine Islands. This pushed back the Japanese and let the US and allied forces get an upper hard in fighting against the Japanese.

The US lead a victorious air-raid in the Pacific defending the major base located at Midway Island from the Japanese control. The US dashed the Japanese in an attempt to push them back and the US succeeded. The battle of Midway became the turning point in the war in the Pacific and the US began t see staggering progress.

Guadalcanal was one of the Solomon Southern Islands. The battle was a battle in the Pacific front between the allies and the Japanese. The Soviet Union manages to surround and destroy the entire German fleet invading the Soviet Union. The attack by the Germans lead to the USSR holding a strong brigade on the Western front of the Soviet Union and completely breaking ties with Germany during World War II.

Code named "Operation Overlord", allied forces army's landed on the beaches of Normandy France to attack the Germans surprisingly. 156,000 allied troops successfully stormed the beach of Normandy and got to the Germans, the battle resulted in over 200 american casualties but played a major role in ending the war in Europe as it was the turning point.

President FDR, PM Churchill and Primier Stalin (The big 3) meet after Germany's unconditional surrender and agreed Germany would be split into 4 post-war occupational zones. The countries controlling this territory would be France, the US, the UK and the Soviet Union. Along with this the city of Berlin would be divided into similar occupation zones.

The Us, in an attempt to get closer to the Japanese, took to a new strategy of overtaking the Pacific. The US slowly took over island by island in the Pacific ocean in order to get closer to main land Japan, this is called Island-hopping, an at the time new and effective US war strategy.

President Truman decided the war in the Pacific had been going on for far to long and needed to be ended quickly. The US came up with deadly atomic bombs able to destroy cities and decided it would be a necessary measure to drop two of them on Japan to end the war. This resulted in a massive Japanese civilian loss of life but lead to the end of the war in the Pacific.
