    During The Munich Conference, the leaders of Great Britain, France, and Italy agreed to give Germany permission to annex certain areas of Czechoslovakia. This conference came as a result of a long series of negotiations.

    The Non-Agression Pact was one of the many pacts or treaties brought up throughout the World Wars. It basically states that if you are going to be apart of the Allied powers (your fellow fighters) that you agree not to turn around or fight against them. Obviously in many cases that happened, the Nazi's against the Soviets for instance.

    The Battle of Britain to this day, was probably one of the biggest battles of which consisted mostly of aircraft warfare at the time. It was also the biggest sustained bombing attack to that date. The battles objective was for the germans to gain air superiority over the royal air force. The name of the battle was given after the speech of Winston Churchill weeks prior to the start of the battle.

    The Lend Lease Act is was passed basically stating that the united states will help out our felling allies in war, even though we were not in the war yet, so to speak. When i say we helped, we helped by giving supplies, food, oil, and material between 1941 and august of 1945

    Operation Barbarossa

    In WWII, all sides of the war, countries and armies specifically had code names for their operations so that no one would understand their tricks and next tactical move. Operation Barbarossa was that exactly, a tactical move by the nazi's to invade the soviet union. 3.5m + axis power soldiers invaded USSR. This was the largest invasion in the history of warfare, because of the 1800 mi range of the attack.

    The attack was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory. This attack was what led the United States to join in on World War II. The attack resulted in Japanese major tactical victory.

    Battle of Stalingrad

    This major battle took place toward the end of 1942, as the Nazi's and their allies the Soviet union try and fight to gain control of Stalingrad. The Wehrmacht lost many lives. This battle was full of very close combat, as well as multiple air raids, often said to be one of the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare.

    D-Day was the day more than 160,000 allied troops landed on a 50-mile stretch of French coastline. They did this to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower said "we will accept nothing less than full victory." More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircrafts supported the invasion of Normandy.

    Battle of the Bulge

    This battle, which happened as a German Offensive Campaign took place in the Ardennas region of Wallonia in Belgium. France and Lexembourg. The almost month and a half battle consisted of many lives lost, mostly german lives and Luftwaffe's Aircraft, which were impossible to replace.

    First major battle where the US landed on the island of Iwo Jima and captured it and took it from the Imperial Army. The main goal of the United States was to take the entire island, as well as the 3 airfeilds that are on the island. Even though the battle was very bloody, and each side suffered major casualties, the japanese losing could have been seen a mile away.

    Battle of Okinawa

    Named Operation Iceberg, The Battle of Okinawa was one of the largest amphibious assault in the pacific war, during the time. It was fought in the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa. A huge percentage of the japanese population consisted of the civilians, 42k-150k to be exact. Which were being killed simultaneously to the war happening. Even though 77,166 japanese soldiers were lost in the war alone.

    There really isnt much to say about V-E Day, other than the fact it means "Victory in Europe Day" which is what it implies. Big groups gathered in London to celebrate

    On August 6, 1945, an American B-29 bomber dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb over Hiroshima, Japan. This explosion wiped 90% of the city. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan, killing about 40,000 people.
