Rape of Nanking
The rape of nanking started because during WWII general muatsui said for Nanking to be destroyed. This worried the goverment so they fleed to Hankow. Almost all of the city was destroyed and burned down. Almost 200,000 men weere killed and 20,000 women of all ages were raped and killed. Fall of Paris
The fall of paris is when the germans planned a attack and took down the French. They were at war with eachother but had done very little fighting. This took them by a surpise and took down their army. -
Operation Barbarossa
This was when the Germans thought that they were going to win this war and that the Soviet Union wouldnt be much of a fight for them. They soon realized that they were wrong and that it wasnt going to be as easy as they thought. -
Pearl Harbor
Japanese sent hundreds of fighter planes to do a surpise attack on american naval base. the attack lasted two hours and the japanese took out eight huge battleships, 300 airplanes killed around 2,000 soldiers and wounded 1,000 more. The next day the U.S declared war on Japan. -
Wannsee Conference
This was a meeting that was the senior officals of the Nazi Germany. This was when they decided to try and kill the entire Jewish population. -
Battle of Midway
The battle of Midway happened six months after Pearl Harbor was attacked. The battle was fought with almost all air crafts. This battle also ended threat of Japanese invasions in the Pacific. -
Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
This was when everyone that lived in Warsaw witch was around 400,000 were all put into a small town and bricked. They werent aloud to leave and if caught trying to leave they were shot and killed on sight. -
D-Day
This was when the men were all on battle ships and would have to run out being shot at. The men in the front were normally shot and killed. -

This is when they found the camps and would find people in there sick and found them on their last chance. -
VE- Day
VE-Day stands for "Victory in Europe". This was when they defeated the Nazi War machine. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
Around 23,000 japanese fought against them from caves, dugouts and tunnels . They hada month of fight but Americans won. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bomb
This was when the U.S was getting back Japan for the Pearl Harbor attack. The U.S. took a bomb flew over a city called Hiroshima and killed nearly 80,000 people. Four days later they dropped another bomb on a Japan city named Nagasaki and killed another 40,000 people. Some think this was the end of WWII but the causing of the Cold War. -
VJ-Day
This was when Japan voluntarily surrendered to the Allies. The name VJ stand for Victory over Japan day.
