What happened
Blitzkreig was a new military tactic that the Germans used. It was a much quicker way of fighting unlike the trenches that armies used to use.
Why it happened
Germany didn’t want to wasn’t time in trenches fighting they wanted a new quicker way to attack that was efficient.
