    After the attack of Pearl Harbor, Japan attacked the american soldiers in the Phillipines. The americans had no choice choice but to surrender. The Japenese turned the soldiers into war prisoners and forced them into a death march. The march took five days and they had to march 55 miles. Anyone who fell down was killed or left for dead.

    The amricans were fearful of the Japenese people in california, washington, oregon, and arizona. They thought that they were spies for the japenese people. They were put into interment camps to keep them under control.

    Allied attack on Normandy in Operation Overlord. Soldiers parachuted behind enemy lines with aircraft as cover. Hitler believed that the attack was a trick or a distraction. There were 10,000 allied casualties
  • Auschwitz Liberation

    Auschwitz Liberation
    The concentration camp called Auschiwitz was built during the war to exterminate jews. In 1945 the Soviet troops arrived at the camp and liberated the prisoners remaining at the camp. They saved up to 144 jewish people.

    During the battle of Iwo Jima, marines raised an american flag on the highest point of the island. The moment was captured by a photographer of the men raising the american flag. The picture became famous and gave people hope in the war.

    Bombing of Hiroshima
    An American bomber dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese town of Hiroshima. The explosion destroyed 90% of the city and killed 80,000 people on impact. After the bombing, radiation killed tens of thousands of people.
