Germany invaded Poland to regain territory. The invasion was planned in the way Hitler wanted to start the war, calles the “blitzkrieg” strategy. The German forces broke through, devastating a lot of territory and then the infantry entered and eliminated whatever resistance was left. Battle of Britain
This battle was between the RAF (Britain’s Royal Air Force) and the Luftwaffe, Nazy Germany´s air force. This was the first battle fought solely in the air. They battled for the control of airspace over Great Britain, the English Channel and Germany. It ended on October 31 1940. The battle was won by the Royal Air Force (RAF) Fighter Command. (It happened in Southern England).

Battle of Stalingrad
It was between the Axis Powers during the war, and the Rusian Forces. It is considered one of the bloodiest and longest battles. Nearly two million people were killed during that time (August 23 1942 - February 2 1943).
