The German Blitzkrieg a "lighting war". Blitzkrieg is a military tactic used at this time for invasions. During this Germany over took Europe and this lasted two years because of the Blitzkrieg tactic. This was an attempt for a short and sweet war, instead of the long battle WW2 actually turned into. Germany wanted to defeat other in small fights, instead of the normally long bloody battles. In all this allowed Germany to secure a victory with less casualties than normal.

The Fall of Paris begun with invasion of the Germany army. First attacking across the Somme and Aisne Rivers. The Paris troops struggled to combat and take control of the situation. leading to the downfall of paris. On the 22nd the French signed an armistice , surrendering to the germans.

Hitler imposed and begun the Operation Barbarossa on June 22nd, this operation being the invasion of the Soviet Union. Germany attacked towards Leningrad, Moscow, and Ukraine. Although the Soviet Union was badly trained and led by even worse. Operation Barbarossa was a way for Hitler to gain more land or "living space" for his people. This lead to many many casualties within Germany, The Soviet Union and over 6 Million were wounded or taken. -
The attack on Pearl Harbor was an attack made by Japan without our knowledge. December 7th Japan launched aircrafts into the naval base at Pearl Harbor. The launching of these aircrafts sunk and damaged 18 US naval vessels and killed over 2 thousand men. Pearl Harbor was seen as a major asset for the US, so japan saw this as a way to weaken their military. -
The Wannsee Conference was a meeting to discuss and follow through with the "final solution" or the "final solution of the jewish question". This was the discussion of how the jews would be removed. Although most really wanted straight extermination. -
The Bataan Death March was a force marched. Over 70,000 Prisoners from war were forced to march 63 miles to a prison camp. Over 10,000 prisoners died on the way and some escaped. in 1946 the person responsible was convicted and executed. -
The Battle of Midway was a naval battle. Fought almost entirely with aircraft. This was fought between the US and the Japanese. 6 months after the Pearl Harbor attack.

The Battle of Stalingrad was fought on the eastern front in WW2. This battle is famous for being the as one of the largest , longest and bloodiest battles. Nearly 2 million people were killed or injured during this time.

D-Day is the day of the invasion of the beaches in Normandy from troops from multiple countries. This was the largest air, naval and land operation in history. By the end France had been liberated and the Allies had defeated the Germans. This was also marked as the beginning of the end of WW2. -
This battle begun when Germans launched a surprise attack on Allied forces. Germans tried to invaded and make progress through american lines. This did not last long as Allies were quick to reinforce and take back control.

This was the end of the imprisonment of jews in concentration camps. Allied troops made their runs and finally realized the horrific conditions. This also opened up more evidence of the mass murders happening and many other foul actions taken against these people. -
Us marines Invaded Iwo jima after naval and air attacks. Japanese soldiers would dig into bunkers deep in the volcanic rocks. Over 88,000 soldiers took place in this battle.

VE Day or Victory in Europe day was the day Germans surrender its military forces too the US. This day exploded with celebrations to mark the end of WW2. -
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were cities affected by experiments nobody was fully aware of. Although these atomic bombs were an end too WW2 it also heavily affect the population and the beginning of the nuclear age. -
