The fall of paris gave the Germans dominance in europe with no allied forces to fight them for two years. -

The Wannsee Conference was a meeting of German officers to discuss the final solution of the Jewish question. It happened because the Nazi’s wanted to anialate the Jews. How it impacted the war is that it added a higher number to the total of deaths during WW2. -

The battle of Midway was fought almost entirely with warplanes over the Midway islands. Japan wanted to defeat the U.S pacific fleet and securing power of the region. This US victory stopped the growth of Japan in the Pacific. -

Soviet forces used a defensive strategy against the Germans set out at Stalingrad in November 1942. Germany and its allies desire control over Stalingrad city in Southern Russia. stopped the German army from going into the Soviet Union and marked the end of the war between the two. -

RAF Bomber Command dispatched 796 Avro Lancaster and nine de Havilland Mosquito bombers from English bases. Was to bomb Berlin which would stop many casualties. It took a huge chunk of the problems out of the war. -

German forces launched a surprise attack on Allied forces in the forested ardennes region in Belgium. Hitler hoped that the German attack would surround the british and american armies and stall the alliance against germany. It marked the last german army on the western front. -
Liberation of concentration camps
Auschwitz was overrun by Russian soldiers. Over a million people were sent to camps all over Europe. Because the Russian army had taken Auschwitz over. It freed and saved over a million lives. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
It was a battle, american vs japanese on an island that lasted just over a month. The U.S. wanted to claim it to make it an airbase so that the americans could attack home islands against japan. After the americans took over the island they were able to turn it into an airbase and a medical camp, which saved over 24,000 american lives. -
Battle of Okinawa
The battle of Okinawa went on for over three months and had some of the worst kamikaze attacks of the war. Taking Okinawa would provide Allied forces an airbase where bombers could strike Japan. -
VE Day
Germany surrendered its military forces to the Allies. So that the war can end in Europe. It ended most of the wars fought in europe. -
VJ Day
Japan had surrendered unconditionally, citizens of japan and the world celebrated. It was the day WW2 ended. Because it was the day that the hell from war was over.
