    Annexation Of Sudetenland
    It lasted till October 10, 1938. The name given to area northern, southern and western area of former Czechoslovakia, by the Germans was Sudetenland. Hitler marched into the Sudetenland. This happened when Hitler demanded self-determination for all Germans in Austria and Czechoslovakia.

    Pearl Harbor
    On this day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor after American put an embargo on oil to Japan. Japan attacked the naval base on Hawaii of Pearl Harbor. They did this to cripple the American Pacific Fleet. They managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 naval ships. 300 Airplanes and kill more than 2,400 American plus another 1,000 Americans wounded.

    Lasted till September 2, 1945. This was a military strategy employed by the Allies. It was used in the Pacific War against Japan. What happened was that the military would go from island to island and fighting the Japanese off of them and then going to the next on after until they pushed them back to Japan.

This was created when Executive Order 9066 created by Franklin Roosevelt was passed. This was because people feared Japanese Spies were in American after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

    Lasted till June 7, 1942. It was the turning point in the Pacific war against the Japanese. The United States Navy defeated a Japanese against Midway Atoll. Japan lost a cruiser, 292 aircraft and 2,500 casualties. The USA lost s destroyer, 145 aircraft and 307 casualties.

    Lasted till February 9, 1943. Was one of the first offensive by Allied forces against Japan. Japanese defends on the island where overwhelmed by the Allies. The objective was to deny Japanese from threatening Allied supply and communication routes between the United States and New Zealand.

    Battle of Stalingrad
    Lasted till February 2, 1943. Was the battle between the Soviet Union and Germany and its allies for the control of the city of Stalingrad. Between 1.8 to 2 million were killed wounded or captured. By the end of the Axis powers had exhausted their ammunition and food. The remaining surrendered to the Soviet Union.

    Allies invaded the beaches of Normandy France. It was code named Operation Overlord. Around 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50 mile stretch. It was one of the largest amphibious military assaults.

    Lasted till September 2, 1945. Was a American campaign to defeat and expel the Japanese forces occupying the Philippines. The liberation of the Philippines commenced with landings on the eastern Philippine island.

    Lasted till February 11, 1945. A conference of Allied leaders, Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin. The meeting was at Yalta and it was to plan the final defeat and occupation of Nazi Germany.

    Last till May 2, 1945. The last battle before V-E day. After this battle Germany surrendered and Hitler took his own life. This ended the war on the Europe front and the destruction of Nazi Germany. Casualties were 1,298,745.
