Virginia Hall is sent into France by the British intelligence

Virginia Hall was a spy, and a very clever one, too. After a hunting accident cost her her left leg, she wore a burdensome prosthetic leg. By 1941, France was under Nazi control. No German suspected a woman to be a spy, especially one that was disabled. She posed as a reporter for 'The New York Post", and she befriended a brothel owner and got knowledge from the prostitutes. She also visited a convent and persuaded the nuns to assist her.

They surmised that "AF" was Midway, and sent a false message saying that "AF" was out of freshwater. The fake message was distributed, and the US was able to prepare for Japan’s attack.

The Night Witches make their first attack and succeed

When Marina Raskova petitioned the idea of an all-female brigade to Stalin, he accepted, even though he felt they wouldn't be any help. The Soviet 588th Regiment became the most elite regiment in the entire Soviet Military. They were nicknamed "the Night Witches" for the "whoosh" their planes made before the women dropped bombs. They flew without any equipment in volatile cropdusters and bombed the Nazis every 3 minutes. Nazis would get a medal solely for shooting down one of their planes.

Her gun did not fire during the first mission to see if she had the guts to use it. She became known to the Nazis as "the girl with red hair."

Rosie the Riveter Appears on the Cover of the Saturday Evening Post.

This picture was created by Norman Rockwell and does not have as much publicity as the "We Can Do It!" poster does. However, the amount of detail put into this image is amazing, and the muscular Rosie the Riveter feels more realistic. Take a look at the image and see what you can spot!
