    The Japanese invaded China in need of expanding Japanese territory. China resisted and took matters in its own hands. This sparked the Second Sino-Japanese war. The Japanese eventually surrendered and China won.

    Blitzkrieg is when a group of people use intense military force to wipe out people and take control to bring on a fast victory. The germans used this to invade countries during WW2 and before WW2. This actually helped WW2 arise because of Germany's success in its invasions.

    Germany invaded Paris and 2 million of the people living there had already fled. Germany invaded using tanks. Spying, arrests, and interrogations were happening almost immediately. The people who stayed were trapped. Germany had successfully taken over Paris then the rest of France.

    This is when the Japanese bombed the islands of pearl harbor. They bombed ships and some people were on them and died. The people there weren't aware of what was happening and ended up dying. Not everyone died and most survived. This was the final straw for the USA and they joined WW2.

    This is when hitler launched his army eastward to the soviet union. He had over 3 million troops and 3,000 tanks. They underestimated the power of the soviet union. They ended up falling and the germans had lost.

    Wannasee Confrence
    Reinhard Heydrich met with Adolf Eichman, and 15 Nazi minitries in Wannsee to discuse “final solution to the Jewish question”. Deportation to madagascar and other gruesome plans were discussed. The topic of sending them to concentration camps to work them to death was also suggested. The discussion to use gas chambers to kill them at concentration camps was ultimately decided.

    This was a brutal battle between the sviet Union and the Nazis and the axis powers. It is known as the bloodiest and longest battles. Since the battle was on russian grounds there was a long winter. This is a disadvantage for the Germans because they weren't expecting it. The Russians ended up winning and they celebrate it today.

    Where the allies laded troops on the nazi fortified beaches of Normandy, France. Over 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircraft were supported by the allies. 9,000 allied soldiers died, but they made it so that the others can begin trying to defeat hitler's troops.

    This was the Germans attempted to push the allies out of northern france to belgium. Germans would imitate and disguise themselves as american soldiers to sabotage communication. That caused suspicion and chaos among everyone. For the 3 weeks of fighting a lot of casualties were apparent. The USA suffered by having the second surrender of troops.

    This was a military campaign between the US military and japanese army. The US invaded the island of Iwo Jima and a battle that lasted for 5 weeks arose. The island’s beaches were covered in light gray volcanic ash and that made running quite hard and unexpected. Iwo Jima eventually was taken over by Americans after the surrender of 2 hideout japansese soldiers.

    VE day is “Victory in Europe Day”. On this day the Allies announced the surrender of germany. The germans surrendered one day before the allies announced it. The end of the war sparked celebration around the world.

    The world's first atomic bomb was dropped over hiroshima. 80,000 people were killed instantly, and 90% of the city destroyed. Another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki and killed 40,000 people. Emperor hirohito of japan announced an unconditional surrender. He called it “a new and most cruel bomb”.

    VJ day is “Victory Over Japan Day”. When japan surrendered WW2 was officially over. This xcited the US because pearl harbor. They were waiting for a surrender since that day. People all around the USA were celebrating.

    The allies wanted to liberate all concentration camps. When this was hapenig nazi’s moved peiple on foot hundreds of miles and most died of starvation or because of the cold. Some people got moved by trains but most did not. The first concentration camp liberated was near lubin, poland. At the end of liberation only few prisoners remained.
