    After WW1 the Treaty of Versailles was put in to place to punish germany. The treaty made Germany admit the was was their fault, pay damages, have land taken away, and disband most of their military. The German people felt this punishment was to harsh. Most of the German people were very poor after WW1 and could not pay. This was one of the reasons Hitler started WW2.

    Mostly fought by the Empire of Japan and the Republic of China years before WW2. China fought Japan with funding from Germany. Japan attacked China and later took over many cities. China regained their land after the war and Japan was stripped of their land accept for modern day Japan.

    The Muich Peace Conference was to decide the fate of Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland. Nazi Germany wanted Sudetenland and the Allies felt by giving them it, it would cool down some of the tennsions. It is now seen as a failed act of appeasment. Sudetenland was a great strategic stand point for Czechoslovakia. It had most of its defencive points and banks.

    known as night of the broken glass, it was a harsh propagada campaign against the jews. It happend throughout Germany and parts of Austria. Over two hundred jewish building were burned and many were killed. In the days after many were taken to consentration camps and killed.

    Known as the September campaign, Germany attacked Polland through the North, South, and West. The quickly had to retreat while the Germans took over. They quickly surrendered and the Germans took over. Some people were able to escape by boats durring the evacuation.
  • Battle of Britain

    The first battle fought in the air only, it was a campaign by Nazi Germany to gain air superiority. The defeat of German airforce is considered the first real defeat of Germany at such a important time in the war. The Royal Air Force ultematly stopped Germany from gaining access to Great Britain and destroying their defencive positions. The battle lasted from July 10 to October 31.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    A suprise attack on a Hawaii miliary base called pearly harbor. They were attacked by jappanese fighters and kamikaze pilots. 2403 U.S.A. soldiers died in the battle. This was the worst attack on U.S. soil until 9/11.
  • Stalingrad

    Stalingrad
    Nazi Germany tries to take control of Stalingrad Russia which was the biggest battle on the eastern front. It is known for being one bloodiest battles in history. Over two million killed both civilian and soldier. The defeat destroyed the Germans on the eastern front and they made no more eastern victorys after the battle.
  • D-Day

    160,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy France. 6000 ships and 13000 ships supported the mission. General Eisenhour said "He will accept nothing less than full victory." It took only one day for the Allies to break the beaches and gain a secure hold in Normandy. 9000 Allied troops were killed or wounded.

    Korematsu Vs. United states
    Fred Korematsu was forced to leave his home after refusing to report to a Jappanese relocation camp. He was later arrested and charged, he was taken to court and was found guilty. the case was taken to the supreme court saying it was unconstitutional.

    During the last months of the war, America began planning for the one of two atomic bombs to be dropped on Hiroshima. The Enola Gay dropped the bomb which helped end the war and killed thousands of jappenese soldiers and civilians
