  • Japan invades China

    japan invades Manchurian on September l931. The Japanese controlled the railway. They claimes the Chinese soldiers had sabatoged the railway. So they attacked the chinese army.

    Conferenced was held in Munich on September 28 through 29 1938. The leaders of Great Britain, France, and Italy agreed to allow Germany to take areas of Czechoslovakia.

At first all they did was bomb military and industrial targets. After the Royal Air force hit Berlin with retaliatory strikes in September the germans began bombing British civilian centers. 23,000 British civilians were killed between July and december 1940. Each side also lost 1,500 aircraft by the end of the year.

Tanks drove 60 miles into Allied territory, Creating a bulg in the lines that gave this battle it's name.

    Battle of Iwo Jima

    This battle took place in February 1945. The capture of Iwa Jima was part of a three-pont plan the americans had for winning the war in the far East. Iwo Jima is a very small Pacific Island just over 4.5 miles long and 2.5 miles wide whitch lies at the foot of the Bonin chain of the islands, south of the main Japanese island of Honshu. Despite its size, Iwo Jima was considered to have great tactical importance.
