    Women in World War II played a significant war. They helped on the home front and overseas. One of the most prominent roles they played was nurses.

    Genocide

    Genocide was a common theme in the Second World War. The Holocaust, the Rape of Nanjing, etc. everybody murdered everybody. It contributed to being the bloodiest war in history.
  • Japanese Invasion of China

    The Japanese invaded China in 1937. It was part of World War II on the Japanese/Chinese front.
  • Rape of Nanjing

    During the Japanese Invasion of China, Japanese troops raped, massacerd and terrorized the Chinese people in the capitol of Nanjing.
  • Anschluss

    It was the annexation of Australia in 1938. The German and Nazi force specifically got more stronger because of this.
  • Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact

    Germany and the Soviet Union signed a pact to not use military force on each other for the next year. This was a turning point because the world didn't expect it, and Germany and the Soviet Union quickly became allies.
  • Invasion of Poland

    The Soviets invaded Poland. It was a defensive war campaign and it marked the beginning of World War II.
  • Desert War

    The North African Desert War was a war campaign that spanned across the deserts of Egypt and Libya and was the main battleground for the North African war front.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese attacked the US base of Pearl Harbor. They destroyed the base and killed multiple people during it.
  • Battle of El Alamein

    It was a battle that took place near the El Alamein railroad, and it was to prevent Germany from advancing into Egypt.
  • D-Day (Normandy Invasion)

    The invasion of the beaches of Normandy. "...some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region." It was the largest seaborne invasion in history.
  • Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    Two bombings that the US used to try to end World War II quickly, and make the Japanese surrender. They didn't after the first bomb, so then the US used a second atomic bomb. (These were both on August 6 and August 9)
