    A colonial war that started October 1935 and ended May 1936. The war resolved in military occupation of Ethiopia.

    A civil war between the Republicans and the Nationalists. Over 500,000 people were killed.

    Coalition between Italy and Germany in 1936. It was announced by Mussolini that Italy would help Germany if there were a war.

    A non aggression pact between Germany and the Soviet Union.

    Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland. Poland eventually surrendered to the Germans.

    The Battle of Britain was a war fought out by air forces.

    A military strike by the Japanese Navy against the United States.

    A battle between the United States and Japan. The United States destroyed the naval strength of Japan.

    A battle between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union for Stalingrad.

    When Normandy landings initiated the Western Allied to take Europe from the Nazi's.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    A German offensive campaign launched in France.
  • Death of Roosevelt

    Franklin Roosevelt died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He served the longest term as president.
  • V-E Day

    V-E Day also known as Victory in Europe Day was a celebration day. It was a day to mark Nazi Germany's surrender of it's armed forces.
  • Dropping of the Atomic Bombs

    The bombs were dropped on Japanese cities known as Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombs were called Little Boy and Fat Man.
