In July 1937, Japan conquered the Chinese capital, Beijing. This was a result of the incident on the Marco Polo Bridge, which was a dispute about a missing Japanese soldier. The soldier turned up two days later, the Japanese demanded an apology from the officer, who defended area. When the Chinese didn’t agree to this demand, the Japanese army attacted Beijing, and on the 29th of July Beijing capitulated. In May 1942 the first naval battle was waged. It was the battle of Coral Sea and it was the beginning of the Battle of Midway. The Second naval battle was in june 1942 and at the Coral Sea. Japan had the intention of occupying the island and stay stronger in the war.
