    10 weeks after the japanese bombed pearl harbor. U.s president franklin d roosevelt signs execitive order 9066. Authorizing the removal of any or all people from military areas. The military moved to west coast area. By june more than 110,000 japanese americans were relocated to remote internment camps built by u.s militay in scattered locations around the country.

    The bataan death march was the forced march of american and filipino prisoners of war by the japanese druing world war 2. The 63 mile march began with 72,000 prisoners. There were about 7,000 to 10,000 deaths during this event.

    160,000 landed along a 50 mile stretch of heavily fortified french coastline to fight nazi germany on the beaches of normandy, France. General Dwight d. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade. More then 5,000 ships and 13,000 airgraft supported the d-day invasion. More than 9,000 allied soldiers were killed or wounded.

    In mid January 1945, A soviet forces approached the auschwitz camp complex. They began evacuating auschwitz and its satelite camps. Nearly 60,000 prisoners were forced to march west from the auschwitz camp system. Thousands had been killed in the camps before death marches began. More than 15,000 deied during the death marches from auschwitz.

The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and killed 80,000 people. 10's of thousands more later died of radiation exposure. 3 days later a secound B-29 bomb was dropped on Nagasaki killing about 40,000 people.
