The battle of Midway was the battle for an island between Japan and the US. For the US, it would be used for a refueling area for their aircrafts. -

President Franklin D. Roosevelt dies in Warm Springs, Georgia. -
Mussolini Dies
Italians capture Mussolini, and murder him. -
Hitler Commits Suicide
Hitler takes his own life in Berlin, Germany. This marks when Germany unconditionally surrenders. -
Victory in Europe Day
V-E Day. This day marks the surrender of Germany, and the end of World War 2. -
Hiroshima Bombing
The Hiroshima bombing consisted of the US dropping an atomic bomb on the Japanese city Hiroshima. This caused the Japanese emperor to accelerate his surrendering. -
Nagasaki Bombing
The US dropped another atomic bomb on the Japanese city Nagasaki. This was purposed for forcing Japan to surrender even quicker than it was after the Hiroshima bombing. -
Japan Surrenders
This day marks the surrender of Japan's army against the Allied forces.
