    Wilma Rudolph wins 3 gold medals.
    Rudolf was an american track and field athlete. She was considered the fastest woman in the world in the 1960's. The 1960 summer olympics were held in Rome. At these Olympic games, Wilma Rudolph won three gold medals competing in track and field. She became the most famous Tenessee State University Tigerbelles.

    Roberta Bibbs was born in Boston Massachusettes. She ran to college daily which equaled about eight miles. She had to run in her nursing schools because they had yet to make a womens running shoes. Before 1966, people believed that women were not capable of running marathons. She jumped in to the middle of the race wearing a black hoodie. Because women were not allowed to run in the race her time was never recorded.

    Women were never allowed to play organized basketball on a full court.It was considered non lady like to sweat and play competitive sports. They were also considered to not be athletic enough compared to mens basketball. In 1971 women were granted the right to play full court basketball.

    This being passed opened up the door for women.

If Bobby Riggs was the same age he would habe been able to cominate the match. This showed the public that women can equally participate in sports with men.

    Junko is a Japanese mountain climber and always had a love for it. She endured a long training before taking the climb up the mountain. During her climb she was buries in the snow by an avalanche. 12 days after she was retrieved from the snow she finished her climb of Mount Everest.

    Ann MeyersAnn Meyers was a very talented basketball player and greatly stood out in high school, college, and in the Olympic games.Out of high school she signed a scholarship to play basketball at UCLA. She ended up being the first woman to be signed to the National Basketball Association (NBA). She then played with the Indiana Pacers.

    Kathy Whitworth was an American Professional Golfer. She begam playing golf at the age of 15 and continued to improve. She joined the professional player at the age of 19. She won her first tournament and from then on she hit a winning streak. By the end of her carreer she achieved 88 wins in all which is more then any other player in the PGA. She was then the first women to be inducted into the Golf hall of fame.

    Jackie was one of the greatest athletes of the 20th century. She specialized in the long jump. She attended the University of California in Los Angeles. There she enjoyed track and field and basketball at a much more competitive level. She then went on to compete in the Olymics for about 10 years. Sports Illustrated Magazine ran an article on her and she ended up being the first woman on the cover of that magazine.

She had many accomplishments in life such as the first woman to tryout and make the National Basketball Association (NBA). She was such a gifted athlete that when she retired she became the first woman inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
