In 1939, William began his teaching career at Bishop Wordsworth in Salisbury. It was here that he taught writing, and philosophy. -

In september of 1940, William had his first child, David. In July of 1945, he had his daughter, Judith. -
On the day of June 19th, 1993, William Golding died at the age of 81. The cause of his death is understood as heart failiure.
