in 1935 he took the job teaching english and philosophy at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury.

he took a break of teaching to join the Royal Navy in WW2. During World War II he fought battleships and was even placed in command of a rocket-launching craft.

in the year 1954 Golding finally published his book Lord of the Flies. he was rejected 21 times. this book is about boys who were stranded on an island and show the savage side of humans to survive.
