William Golding was born in England. William grew up next to a grave yard. He recieved his early education. and planned on continuing this path.

William had soon left his teaching position, but he quickly joined the Royal Navy to help fight for World War 2. He was in the navy for the next 6 years; this is where he found a passion for the sailing, and the sea in general.

After 21 rejections the Lord of The Flies was finally published. The book is now considered a classic. LOFT also set the tone for later works of Goldings. The internal struggle between good, and evil was very popular.

William Golding passed away at the age of 87, he died in Cornwall. In the days before his heart attack, he had still continued to write. Behind him, he left a loving wife named Ann.
