    Mr.Golding was born in the 14th Century and lived with his Mother and Father, Mildred and Alex. He tried writting his first novel when he was 12 years old, Golding was unsuccessful. As early as 1934 Mr. Golding published his first novel, The novel was entitled "Poems", which was highly overlooked by critics.

    Golding started teaching at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury 1935.His students and they're behavior were mostly the inspirtation for his best selling novel, "Lord of the Flies".
  • "Lord of the Flies"

    "Lord of the Flies" Golding's best selling novel, is about Brittish boys who get stranded on an Island and they try and work together to get off the Island. In 1954 only 3,000 copies were sold, due to lack of ink, then in 1962 the novel sold over 65,000 copies. Golding was rejected 21 times, before the book was published.
  • The movie

    In 1963, only 1 year after Golding had retired from teaching, Peter Brook made his novel "Lord of the Flies" into a movie.
  • Nobel Prize

    In 1983 Golding was awarded with the Nobel Prize for literature, then in 1988 he was "knighted" by the Queen of England.
  • Remade

    Then in 1990 the movie "Lord of the Flies" was remade by Harry Hook. The movie was up for 3 nominations, including many of the actors/ actresses that starred in the film.
  • Death

    Mr. Golding Died of a heart attack in Perranarworthal, Cornwall. His wife and his kids were still living, David and Judith.
