    He had published many poems in college, but he called them juvenile compared to this. After many rejections he finally published his first novel, Lord of The Flies (which would end up being a grea success).

    He retired from teaching in 1962, the year before a movie was made of his novel.

  • Nobel Prize!!!

    William got a nobel prize for litererature due to his writing the Lord of The Flies novel.

  • Knighted

    He was knighted by England's Queen Elizabeth II.

    A new Lord of The Flies movie was made.

    Died of Congestive Heart Failure at age 82.
