  • Albany Conference Succeeds *Changed Event*

    The Albany Congress was held in Albany, New York to secure a more centralized government all under Britain. Though its main purpose was to unify the Indians and French. The conference consisted of 7 British-American Colonies: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

    British Continues Taxing on Colonies
    Now that the Colonies were respresenting Britain, the British continued to put taxes on stamps, documents, food, and tea. The taxes were also to help continue the process of repaying what was lost during the French and Indian War before the Conference. The French and Indian War was also the reason why the Albany Conference was held.

    Colonists had difficulty getting jobs because of the British taking them first. This had led to lack of jobs and no money in so-called "America" and no one could pay the taxes at this time. The standard of living was not as equal to those that are British because of discrimination.

    Now that the Colonies were all colonized under Britain, many British had sailed over to settle in America bringing in more European influences to the culture. Tea was a huge staple as well as religion: Christianity.

    A massacre had occured in a town called Poquetanuck,of Connectict killing many of both British and the so-called American people. It started by the Americans destroying and killing the British shops and people in town. The unfairness of employment and diffiicult economy was what had sparked this massacre.

    Due to the inequality of both the British and Colonies living in America, the Colonies revolted. The Civil War of 1755 was fought in Connecticut was also a result of back-fire from the Poquetanuck massacre.

    In the Spring of 1755, on May 28th, an Emancipation was brought up upon King George III for equal rights to everyone in America. This was the begining of an economical uprise for Britain as new businesses and more people were put into work.

    In 1756, the Inudstrial Revolution began and spread throughout not only Britain but America as well. Factories became popular as the demand for British goods were bigger than ever since the Albany Plan came in tact. This was the beginning of a more modernized civiization.

    A year after the Industrial Revolution, the economy was booming off the charts. Not only was the British-Americans living the high life but so were other countries around the world. China, their biggest consumer, was under Emporer QianLong who had sent a letter to King George III to open up trade this same year.

    Although the Native Americans were treated well under British rule, Christianity, and the ways of life did not seem to suit their cultures. So when the Native Americans declared the Declaration of Independance, on July 1, 1776. Shockingly, it was granted without violence as Britain did not want them to represent their country anyway. A negotiation was settled by Native Americans getting the land of Mississippi and South Carolina.
