    On April 30, 1803 president Thomas Jefferson gave the French $15 million for the Louisiana territory. Being only 4 cents anacre this increased the size of theUnited States drastically.

    Lewis a Clark Expedition
    Lewis and Clark started their journey discovering the Louisiana territory in 1803. In 1804 they met up with a couple Indians to help them on their way. On September 23, 1806 the travelers finally make it back home now known as heroes.

    On March 28, 1830 the congress decided that if they relocated the Indians they would be ableto use the land more efficiantly. The congress had a long debate but in the end the idea of having over 25 million more acres to use was to good to pass up.
