Chapt. I
Ivypool is in the Dark Forest, training her father and friend. When all the other cats leave she starts to spy on a battle plan meeting, when she is woken up by her sister. -

Chapt. II
It is Half-Moon, so Jayfeather starts to head to the moonpool, even though he is banned. Firestar follows him out, and tells him it is frustrating, but he must abide to the wishes of other clans. Yellowfang then visits him in Jayfeather's sleep, scolding him for thinking he is so important. She then warns him that he must find the fourth cat in the prophecy is the clans are to survive. -
Chapt. III
Jayfeather goes to the Moonpool anyway, where he is told by Brambleberry, a past RiverClan Medicine Cat, that he must re-unite StarClan. He then is showed by the Dark Forest warrior, Brokenstart, the cats training in the Dark Forest. The current RiverClan Medicine Cat, Mothwing, is there when Jayfeather wakes up. Jayfeather tells her about the prophecy and re-uniting StarClan, she then agrees to help. -
Chapt. IV
Lionblaze shares a mouse with his sister, then goes hunting with Cinderheart, Blossomfall, and Thornclaw. Blossomfall trips on a bramble and sprains her shoulder. The hunting patrol then hunts a little while longer before heading bak to the camp. -
Chapt. V
Dovewing accedently wanders too close to the ShadowClan border. Tigerheart, a ShadowClan warrior sees her, warns her, then insists that his clanmates only smell a rabbit, even though the insist that they smell ThunderClan on their side of the border. After they are gone, Dovewing agrees to meet Tigerheart at the border that night. -
Chapt. VI
Dovewing informs her sister, Ivypool, that she might be the Fourth cat in the prophecy. Ivypool denies it. Dark Forest warriors then gather to practice their murderous tactics. Later in the chapter, there is a skirmish on the WindClan border because a WindClan warrior falsly accuses ThunderClan of crossing the border. -
Chapt. VII
Beggins with Jayfeather practicing with Briarlight, having her reach a pebble. He then goes and talks with Mothwing. When he comes out, Brightheart announces to him that she is expecting kits. He then gets angry because she decided to have kits at the "Worst possible time." -
Chapt. VIII
Lionblaze goes on a boarder patrol, and purposly pics a fight with a ShadowClan warrior and lets him beat him, in order to prove to Cinderheart that he can choose his own destiny. Cidenrheart just gets angry, Firestar then approaches Lionblaze, telling him that he must follow his destiny, and that he must choose his destiny. -
Chapt. IX
Blackstar and some ther ShadowClan warriors come to the ThunderClan camp in order to warn them to stay off their territory. -
Chapt. X
Special patrols from the dark forest begin inside all of the territories. Tigerstar says that they are to get to know each other's territories, so it is easyer to help other Clans. However, Ivypool knows that Tigerstar is scouting out the territories for the best places t attack the Clans. -
Chapt. XI
Jayfeather hears form the patrols of strange scents of rouges that start and end inside the territories. These are left from the Dark Forest patrols. Jayfeather later tales a nap to find answers from Rock, and finds Dovewing and Lionblaze there too. The three of them go down into the tunnels to find Rock, who blames them for being born, and causing the Dark Forest to rise. He also tells them that they must find the Fourth Cat. -
Chapt. XII
The three wake up, and then have a meeting about who the fourth cat is. Lionblaze insists that the fourth cat is Hollyleaf. Lionblaze then goes out into the forest with her in order to asses her. and she says that she is not the fourth cat. -
Chapt. XIII
Dovewing is rude to Bumblestripe, who is in love with her. Rsoepetel then convinces her to apologize to him, which she does. But then he just gets annoyed and tells her to "Sharpen your claws on some other cat!" Dovewing is then chosen to go to the gathering. At the gathering, the other three Clans are relieved that Jayfeather didn't come. They also discuss the strange scents in their territories. -
Chapt. XIV
There is a meeting in the Dark Forest, which starts with Tigerstar praising all of them and encourages them, and tells them of the upcoming battle, and how the Clans will fall, to the horror of many cats. Brokenstar then snaps his neck, making an example of him, telling every cat at the meeting that they would stay loyal to the Dark Forest, or be killed. -
Chapt. XV
Jayfeather is in camp, treating sick cats, when Mothwing comes to show him something. It is a burning reed that has apperently been smoldering for days withought going out. Jayfeather realizes that it is a sign, and immidietly goes off to the Moonpool to contact Flametail. -
Chapt. XVI
Jayfeather is in StarClan's hunting grounds, and with Spottedleaf, goes across shadowclan to find Flametail. Jayfeather starts to drown, and Flametail refuses to help. Spottedleaf the convince Flametail, and together they rescue Jayfeather. They then get all the medicine cats, and Flametail tells the truth about his death, re-uniting the medicine cats. -
Chapt. XVII
Jayfeather tells Lionblaze about him reuniting the Medicine Cats, and Ivypool tells them how the Dark Forest has found a way into the real world. The Three and Hollyleaf then tell Leafpool, Squirrelflight, and Brambleclaw the prophecy, and they forgive each other, which gives them the streagth to accept their destinies. -
Chapt. XVIII
The Medicine Cats decide to reunite StarClan together, and then Jayfeather brings them all into the Dark Forest in order to reveil to them the greater danger. StarClan is united once more, and the Medicine Cats agree to bring their leader to the island for a meeting. Also, Bluestar tell Jayfeather that the fourth cat is Firestar. -
Chapt. XIX
Jayfeather tells Dovewing and Lionblaze that Firestar is the fourth cat. The leaders then meet on the island, there they reveal the prophecy and their powers to the other three leaders and medicine cats. Dovewing is then asked by Willowshine if she can hear into the Dark Forest, which indeed she can. Jayfeather then tells the group what exactly she is seeing. The four leader agree to send patrols to each other's camp in order to make each clan stronger. -
Chapt. X
Firestar tells ThunderClan about the Dark Forest's rising, and the battle plans. He also tells about Ivypool's spying in the Dark Forest. Ivypool then begins training the warriors on the Dark Forest moves, and warns them how they will not follow the Warrior's Code. Lionblaze then goes to Cinderheart, and frees Cinderpelt's spirit from Cinderheart. Cinderheart then tells Lionblaze that "I will fight besides you, always." -
Chapt. XXI
The Clans prepare for the battle, and Jayfeather accepts Leafpool back as a Medicine cat, even though she had broken the Warrrior Code. -
Chapt. XII
Dovewing listens into the Dark Forest, and the battle is closer than ever. She warns Firestar, who sends out the patrols to the other camps. -
Chapt. XXIII
The Battle starts! Blackstar looses a life, in response, more ThunderClan cats head to ShadowClan. -
Chapt. XXIV
The ShadowClan Camp is being overrun. However, the Ancients and Midnight the Badger come to help defend. Lionblaze and Greystripe then head back to camp. -
Chapt. XXV
Ivypool goes to WindClan with a Dark Forest patrol, as they have not yet realized that she is spying. She then tells the Clan Cats to attack the Dark Forest warriors, and gets ambushed, Hollyleaf helps to drive her attackers away, but is injured. Tigerheart then helps to take Hollyleaf back to camp. -
Chapt. XXVI
The Dark Forest is attacking ThunderClan now, and Hollyleaf dies from her wounds. The Ancients and Midnight are now helping ThunderClan. Mousefur, an elder, Spottedleaf, a StarClan member, and Ferncloud, a queen, are all killed in the Camp. Brokenstar is killed by Yellowfang for a second time. Hawkfrost is also killed a second time by Brambleclaw. -
Final Chapt.: XXVII
Firestar and Tigerstar fight. Tigerstar knows that if he wins, he would be able to destroy ThunderClan, by picking off one of it's warriors one at a time. However, Firestar kills Tigerstar, silencing his influence for eternity. Lightning then strikes a tree next to him, and in the billowing smoke, Firestar dies from his wounds from the battle. He then, with the other ThunderClan fallen, follows Bluestar into StarClan. The warriors in the camp then start shouting out Brambleclaw's new name; -
Final Chapt.: XXVII: Part II
Bramblestar. He then chooses his mate, Squirrelflight, as his deputy.
