    Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attcked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 wounded. The day after assult, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan.

Throughout this battle, allied soldiers faced heavy attacks from Japanese forces. The Battle of Iwo Jima is considered a major point in the war because it allowed United States President Harry Truman to see how long and hard Japanese forces would fight to keep control of their islands.

    This night continued till the next day. US warplanes dropped danderous bombs on eastern Tokyo, consuming an estimated 100,000 civilians, injuring a million more and leaving a million homeless. This firebombing was not solely a matter of damging Japan's factories and foundation. This was payback for Pearl Harbor and mistreatment of prisoners of war.

    This battle happened on the 6th and 9th of August 1945. a US B-29 bomber dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, instantly killing around 80,000 people. Three days later, a second bomb was dropped on Nagaski, causing the deaths of 40,000 more. The dropping of the bombs, which was contoled by the President of US Harry Truman, remains the only nuclear attack in history. In a few months 100,000 more people died slowly, this was caused by a result of radiation poisoning.
