This event was important because it gave the chance for minorities (Mainly blacks) the right to vote. This event lead to white people establishing literacy tests and the "Grandfather Clause" so blacks would have a hard time voting.

This event is important because it was a turning point for whites to not allow Blacks to be able to vote. This was very detrimental to blacks that wanted to vote, and those who thought they had total freedom.
