    North Carolina Constitution
    This Constitution created a government for the new states and was amended in 1835. What led to the Constitution was it was a way for governance to be assigned and allowed liberty and protections to the Englishmen.
  • Seneca Falls Convention

    Seneca Falls Convention
    This was the first women's right's convention in the United States and was held in the Wesleyan Chapel in Seneca Falls. What led to this event was women wanting the same equality men had. The significance of this was that it created equality for all women. This allowed women to have the same rights as men. This event was marked an important symbol for equality. With this event women were now allowed to vote.
  • Passage of the 15th Amendment

    Passage of the 15th Amendment
    This Amendment was made so that all citizens had the right to vote and no citizen shall be have denied the right to vote. What led to this was many citizens of color, race, and previous situations being denied of the right to vote. This is significant because it allowed all people the right to vote. It changed the standard ways of voting and allowed all races and people to vote. No person was denied of voting just because of the way they looked. All people were now eligible to vote.
  • Jim Crow Laws

    Jim Crow Laws
    This law helped allow African Americans the rights to vote in Mississippi. While the 14th and 15th Amendment allowed African Americans the rights to vote it had been denied in Mississippi by the White Supremacy. The people then came us with the Jim Crow Law so that way no person of color would be denied the rights to vote. The significance of this was it allowed African Americans the rights to vote in Mississippi. African Americans were not denied the rights to vote anymore.

    This allowed Senators the rights to one vote. What led to this was the executive authority of states issuing out writs of election to fill vacancies. The significance of this was it allowed Senators the right to vote. This also allowed the Senator to a six year term. The Senator was also allowed to be elected by each state.

    This Amendment allows all citizens the right to vote and shall not deny any citizen based on their sex the rights to vote. What led to this was women being denied the rights to vote just because of their sex. The significance of this was it allowed women the rights to vote. This Amendment allowed women the rights to vote in Western States. This also allowed women the rights to run for an elective in the U.S House of Representatives. This freed women of suffrage.

    Indian Citizen Act
    This Act allowed Native Americans the right to vote in which had citizenship. What led to this was Native Americans being denied citizenship and therefore not being allowed to vote. The significance of this Act was allowing Native Americans the rights to a citizenship based on territorial limits. This also allowed the Native Americans the right to vote. Native Americans were now being allowed citizenship's rather than being denied. Native Americans were now being treated equally.

    This Amendment allows an elected local Governor the right to vote. What led to this was Local Governors not being allowed the right to vote. This significance of this was it allowed Governors the right to vote. This also allowed citizens the right to vote in a Presidential Election. Citizens now able to cast their votes in a Presidential Election.

    This Amendment allowed citizens the right to vote in a primary election for a President or a Vice President. What led to this was citizens not being able to vote in an election. The significance of this was it allowed citizens to cast their voters for a President and Vice President.

    This Act allowed all people the right to vote. What led to this was people being denied the right to vote because of their race or what standards they came from. The significance of this Act was it allowed African Americans the rights to vote. African Americans could now vote without having to pay taxes, take literary tests, or having to come from grandfather clauses. African Americans were now being treated equally to an extent.

    This Amendment allowed adults at the age of eighteen the rights to vote. What led to this was people wanting to vote but not being old enough. The significance of this was it allowed adults at the age of eighteen the rights to vote. This also lowered the age at which people were able to vote. This was also a move towards democratization.
