  • Constitution is ratified

    Only white men with properity can vote.

  • Religious qualifications dropped

    Religon is no longer a prerequisite to vote.

  • Property requirements dropped

    Tax payment and proprtiy ownership is no londer needed to vote.

  • 15th Amendment

    All males of any race and former slaves can vote.

  • 19th Amendment

    Gave women the right to vote = women's suffrage.

  • 23rd Amendment

    Gave everyone in D.C. the right to vote in the presidential elections.

  • 24th Amendment

    The baning the poll taxes as a requirement for voting in elections.

  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    Protects the rights of minority voters and eliminates the voting barriers.

  • 26th Amendment

    The voting age is set at 18 years old.
