Constitution is ratified

With the constitution being created there were only select people that were allowed to vote. Those people allowed to vote were only white men that owned land.

Religious qualifications dropped

Nov 17, 1810

Now there is no limits on what your religion is to have the right to vote.

Property requirements dropped

Mar 24, 1850

In 1850 they dropped the requirmen to own properties to vote. So now all white males can vote.

15th Amendment passed

Jan 18, 1867

Now the amendment passes that allows all races to vote. Even former slaves have the right to vote.

19th Amendment passed

Oct 2, 1920

The 19th Amendment passes amd now makes it possible for women to vote.

23rd Amendment passed

Aug 1, 1961

Now people who lived in thbe District of Columbia can vote in the elections for president.

24th Amendment passes

Apr 30, 1964

Now there are no poll taxes so people who couldnt afford to vote now can.

Voting Rights Act of 1965

Dec 25, 1965

There are no more tests so that minoritys will fail so now they can vote.

26th Amendment passes

Nov 12, 1971

The youngest you allowed to be to vote is 18.
