Voting Rights in the United States

    All white, land owning males could vote

    Former slaves the right to vote and reserves the right to vote for any male of any race.

    Gives Woman the right to vote

    Allows District of Columbia to participate in Presidential elections.
  • 24th Amendement

    Bans the poll tax as a requirement for voting in federal elections.
  • Viting Rights act of 1965

    Protects the minority voting rights and eliminates voting barriers such as the literacy test.
  • 26th Amendment

    Sets minimum voting age to 18.
