Voting Rights.

  • 13th Amendment

    13th Amendment
    This amendment abolished slavery and was the end of the civil war. The 13th amendment is important because it gave the slaves their rights.
  • 15th Amendment

    15th Amendment
    The 15th amendment lead to all males having the right to vote. No judgement on their race or way of life.
  • Take Voting Rights Away

    This event is not right because it is being judgemental of their race, which is unfair to them and their rights.

    They had to take test about the consitution. It is important so that the courts know that the people voting have some knowledge on the amendments and their rights.
  • The Grandfather Clause

    The Grandfather Clause
    the grandfather clause required voters to prove their grandfather could vote, however most African American grandparents were slaves.
  • 19th Amendment

    19th Amendment
    the 19th amendment allows women the right to vote. This event leads to more voters because now men and women can vote. It is important because women now have the same rights as men do with making choices in life.
  • 24th Amendment

    24th Amendment
    Poll taxes lead to more voters. Even though african americans and women finally got the right to vote they had to pay a fee. (as for everyone else) which some people couldn't afford to pay, so they couldn't vote.

    This was an attempt to regester African Americans to vote in Mississippi. This is important because three men got killed because they were doing it when it was not allowed.

    This allows everyone and anyone to vote. It is important because you can vote with out being judged by your race, color, gender, etc.
