    The 13th amendment is important because it abolished slavery and involuntary servitude in all American states. It ended a moral wrong in this country of looking at people as property, it also helped to push an understanding of equality between blacks and whites. It was small step but an important one.

    The 15th amendment increased voting rights by preventing no one from voting due to "race, color, or previous condition of servitude" It ensured that every eligible American voted.

    In my opinion this event made voting rights decrease because not every person that wanted to vote could pass the literacy test. I dont think this event was important because a score you get on a test really has nothing to do with voting.

    The 19th amendment had a big effect on voting rights because it gave women the right to vote. After the 19th amendment was passed voting rights increased by a lot because women were now able to vote.

    This event allowed any adult male whose father or grandfather had voted in a specific year prior to the 13th amendment to vote without paying the tax. These laws lead to the desired affect of taking away African American rights and Native American voters as well as poor whites who immigrated after the year specified.
