13th Amendment
This event is important because it was the time when African Americans were now aloud to not be slaves, but citezens. People were now supposed to treat them not as lowers but as equals. -
15th Amendment
This law that gave minority males the right to vote, soon trigered laws to take voting rights away from African Americans. -
Supreme Court Rules Literacy tests constitutional
The law that was made up to prevent African Americans from voting was declared constitutional. This soon moved on to examining the other laws more closely. -
Grandfather Clause declared unconstitutional
The Grandfather Clause was declared unconstitutional, and that increased voting rights because it allowed more people to vote. -
19th Amendment
This amendment gave women the right to vote. This increased voting rights because now a lot more peope were now allowed to vote. -
24th Amendment
This Amendment outlaws poles. This allowed other people to vote because now more people who don't pay taxes to vote. -
Voting Rights Act
This event is important because because it protected everyones right to vote and its's not just based on racial or ethnic discrimination.
