The 15th amendment gave minority males the ability to vote. This led many southern states to pass various laws to take those right from them. This lead to various amounts of events and a lot of these laws were taking to the Supreme Court.

The 19th amendment was created and allowed women to vote. This led to poll taxes to be questioned but was still said to be constitutional

The 24th amendment outlawed poll taxes. This then led to Freedom Summer where there was nothing to stop the minorities from voting.

The Voting Rights Act banned ethnic and racial discrimination in the elections. This event was important because it was the gate opening event that gave African Americans the ability to vote with nothing in there way besides a couple angry opinions.

Freedom Summer was the large attempt to get African Americans to register to vote. This led to many disputes but also led to the Voting Rights Acts, therefore not allowing discrimination in the elections
