    The eruption was one of the largest volcanic events on Earth in recorded history. There is no recored death toll or recored date of the eruption but it is estimated that it happened between 1650-1500 BC

    A moderate-sized eruption occurred on April 5 but on April 10 the eruption intensified, spewing columns of molten rock into the sky.The eruption caused a golbal climate anomalies, giving the name "Year without a Summer" in 1816. A estimated 92,000 people died.

    Smaller eruptions began in November 1990 with fresh lava emerging on May 20, 1991. The main eruption began on June 3, which in turn, between 1991 and 1994, the volcano generated at least 10,000 lava flows, destorying about 2,000 houses.
